The American Dream Begins

In 1973, John Sztankovits emigrated from Hungary in an attempt to find the ‘American Dream.’

Finding Passion

After working odds jobs to make ends meet, he finally found work where his passions & interests lay; a machine shop.

Orion Precision Industries Opens, 1978

He worked hard, learned what he could and in 1978 he and his wife Edith decided to open up their own shop named Orion Precision Industries.

A Decade Later...

About a decade later, John purchased the same machine shop where he once worked and became his boss’ boss. They expanded to a larger facility to accommodate the additional staff and machinery.

1990s

John and his team expanded yet again in the 90’s to their current 25,000 square foot location in Somerset, NJ.

2012

The addition of new Citizen Machines in 2012 created the most recent expansion into the 10,000sq” facility next door.

The Next Generation...

In 2013, John retired but left the company in the grateful hands of his children, Olivia, Victoria and Peter, who currently run Orion with the same  work ethic and dedication that can be attributed to its’ success.

2015

In 2015, we upgraded our Blue M Oven for a more advanced model, increasing our in house heat treating capabilities to 1100°F.

2016

In 2016, 2 Star 38B machines were added, further increasing our capabilities up to 1.5″ diameter.
